Cora Beatrice Pugh Young, better known as Tootsie, age 90 of Grassy Creek died Wednesday, February 27, 2019 at Margate Health and Rehab Center. Mrs. Young was born July 8, 1928 in Ashe County to the late G. H. and Mary Phipps Pugh. In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her husband, Stanley Young, son, Jack Young, brother, Lida Pugh, sisters, Winnie Jones and JoAnn Blackburn.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 pm Sunday, March 3, 2019 at Badger Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Jack Pugh. Burial will follow in the Pleasant Home Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 2:00-3:00 pm prior to the funeral service. Mrs. Young is survived by, son, Jed Young of Grassy Creek, daughters, Sharon Parsons of Grassy Creek and Rachel Burgess of West Jefferson, sister, Mozell Brinegar of West Jefferson, brother, Rev. Jack Pugh of West Jefferson, 8 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, 9 great-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

The family will be meeting at her daughter’s home at 288 Sus Rd. in Grassy Creek.
