Obituary for Coralie “Corkey” Magoon Coralie Ellen “Corkey” Magoon Colchester – Coralie’s heart stopped on September 21, 2018 at the McClure-Miller VNA Respite House from leukemia. Coralie was the daughter of George Henry Magoon and Donna Oakes Magoon, born March 5, 1937 in Stowe, VT. Her friends knew her as Corky.
Coralie attended Colchester Schools and Burlington High School. She was employed for 33 years by the Chittenden County Regional Planning Commission. Her interests included hiking, wilderness canoeing, visiting seven continents in search of new birds with her dear friend, Madeline and being there to help out at Our Lady of Grace Church, Colchester Food Shelf, Colchester Historical Society, Colchester Cemetery Commission and Meals on Wheels.
Coralie is survived by a brother, Robert Magoon (Betty) and a sister, Jean Penoyer (Charles) and nieces and nephews, Timothy Magoon, Bruce Magoon, Linda Viau, Donna Penoyer, Curtice Penoyer and several grand nieces and nephews. Coralic was predeceased by her parents and her sister, Julia Monta. Coralie is most appreciative of and thankful for all the prayers, cards and support she received while she was sick.
No visiting hours are planned. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church in Colchester Village at 10:00AM on September 26, 2018. Burial will follow at Colchester Village Cemetery, followed by a luncheon at Our Lady of Grace Church.
