Obituary for Donald Eugene Phillips Donald E. Phillips, lifelong resident of Winooski, passed away peacefully on Tuesday morning October 16 at the Maple Ridge Memory Care facility in Es Junction. Don loved playing chess, photography, model building, painting and drawing. His big passion was baseball.

He was a devoted lifelong Red Sox fan and a longtime coach in the Winooski Boys’ League. He will likely be most remembered for his corny jokes and laughter. Don was born in Winooski and began his working career as a teenager in the Winooski woolen mills.

He then moved for a short time to Pratt & Whitney in New Britain Conn followed by a few years at the University of Vermont in the physics department. He went to work at the new IBM plant in Es Junction where he spent more than 25 years. Donald was predeceased by his parents, Eugene and Florence and his brother Bernard all of Winooski.

He leaves behind his loving wife Monique and two sisters – Pauline Bouchard (and her husband Andre) and Theresa Myers. He also leaves three sons – Jack (and his wife Jane), Paul (predeceased by his wife Denise) and Peter (and his wife Carolyn) – eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held Friday October 19 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at LaVigne Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 132 Main St, Winooski.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday October 19 at 1:00 PM at St Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Winooski. Condolences may be shared at www. lavignefuneralhome.com.
