Cynthia R. Winner November 1, 1935 – June 18, 2018 Cynthia R. Winner, 82, LaPorte, Indiana, passed away Monday, June 18, 2018 at 3:33 pm in Indiana University Health LaPorte Hospital. A memorial service will be held at 6:00 pm, Friday, June 22, 2018 at Ott/Haverstock Funeral Chapel, 418 Washington St., Michigan City, IN with Pastor Dennis Meyer officiating. Cremation has taken place.

Visitation will be from 3:00 pm – 6:00 pm, Friday at the Ott/Haverstock Funeral Chapel. She was born November 1, 1935 in Salyersville, Kentucky to the late Joe and Maggie (Howard) Patton. On October 19, 1975 in Michigan City, IN she married John Winner who preceded her on June 19, 2010.

Surviving are a daughter, Renee (Lloyd) Madaus of LaPorte, IN; two sons, Christopher Schultz and Michael Schultz, both of LaPorte, IN; grandchildren, Brian (Danielle) Madaus of Maui, HI and Amber (John) McBride of Simpsonville, SC; six great-grandchildren, Morgan, Fallon, Maximus, Macie, Myer and Merrick; and her brother, Ray Patton of Wheatfield, IN. She was also preceded in death by two sisters, Bell Colquist and Beulah Howard; and her brother, Dale Patton. Cynthia had worked as a waitress at Walgreen’s Restaurant.

She enjoyed her plants, feeding the birds and watching the Chicago Cubs. Contributions may be made to LaPorte County Small Animal Shelter, 2855 W. State Road 2, LaPorte, IN 46350 or to the Michiana Humane Society, 722 Indiana Highway 212, Michigan City, IN 46360.
