Daniel A. Byers, 69, of Evansville, Indiana, ended his battle with Alzheimers/Lewy Body Dementia on Friday, June 1, 2018 at Walnut Creek Alzheimers Special Care Center. Dan was born in on March 20, 1949 to the late Harry and Martha (Leake) Byers. He was raised in and attended schools in Channonhan, IL.

He was known to be a practical joker but not to fond of being on the receiving end. Dan is survived by his wife, Marty Childers (Byers) of Evansville, IN; daughters, Tamie Seedorf (Tom) of Chebanse, IL, Kelly Byers of Morris, IL, and Angie Byers of Salem, WI; son, Danny Byers (Christine) of Bourbonnais, IL; sister, Sally Walker (Bob) of Yorkville, IL; brother, Bill Byers of Channonhan, IL; nine grandchildren and one great-granddaughter; numerous nieces and nephews; extended family members, Shelley McKay (Clyde) of Scottsdale, AZ, Jeni Childers of Elizabethtown, KY, Jon Childers (Jacey) of Stendal, IN, plus a additional eight grandchildren. Dan was preceded in death by his parents; late wife, Sherry Byers; brothers, Jack and David Byers; sister, Lois Keisler; and a nephew, Bruce Quillen.

A Celebration of Dan’s life will be held Saturday, June 23, 2018 from 1:00 PM until 4:00 PM at the VFW Post 6049, 309 McKinley St., Morris, IL 60450. A private burial will be held at Willard Grove Cemetery in Channonhon, IL. Those wishing to make memorial contributions may do so to the Alzheimers Association, Greater Kentucky and Southern Indiana, 6100 Dutchmans Lane Suite 401, Louisville, KY 40205.
