Daniel “Dan” G. McDonald Kawkawlin, Michigan Mr. McDonald 81 passed away peacefully Tuesday July 3, 2018 at his home with his loving family at his side. He was born in Kawkawlin Township on September 14, 1936 to the late Jon & Jennie (Longtin) McDonald. He married the former Doreen Pahssen on January 16, 1960 St. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Saginaw.

Army, served on the Kawkawlin Township Planning Commission, member of the Prince Peace Parish and a member of the Knights of Columbus Council 3505. In his younger days he participated in 4-H Rodeos, raced snowmobile and played ball for several teams in the area, including The Bay City Times and Rowleys.

Dan was also Detroit Tigers biggest fan and enjoyed deer and rabbit hunting. Dan enjoyed his morning gatherings with family and friends at the Turkey Roost, also giving the “girls” a run for their money with his teasing and joking. He is survived by his wife of 58 years and their daughters Julie & Matthew Arnold and Sheila McDonald; grandchildren Emily & Aaron Nowak, Audrey Arnold and Noel & Marc Bean; great granddaughter Bonnie Bean; sisters Genevieve Alarie, Kathleen Wilson and Cecilia “Babe” Paige, sister in law Donna Johnson; many nieces and nephews and many dear friends.

He was preceded in death by brothers Allan & Bernice McDonald, Donald & Irene McDonald and Francis “Bud” McDonald; sisters Odile & Chuck McNally, Fidelis & Walter Putt, Mary & Henry Putt, Sister Maureen, RSM, Monica & Harold Paige, and Rita & Frank Salogar; brother in laws Jack Alarie, Gary Wilson, and Howard Paige. Family would like to thank Dr. Guieglaar, Dr. Struble, Dr. Abramsom, Dr. Little and McLaren Hospice for Dan’s care. Funeral Mass will be celebrated Saturday July 7, 2018 at 10 am from Prince of Peace Parish- Sacred Heart Campus with Rev.

Fr. Patrick O’Connor and Deacon Michael Arnold presiding with Military honors and committal services at Calvary Cemetery. Family will be present at Rivertown Funeral Chapel on Friday from 1 to 8 pm and on Saturday at Church from 9 am until Mass to receive family and friends.

A Vigil & K of C service will be held at 7 pm Friday evening at the funeral chapel.
