Joan (Joanie) L. Pierson Pinconning, Michigan Joanie age 73 loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister passed away unexpectedly Saturday, September 15, 2018 at her home with her loving family by her side. She was born in Bay City, Michigan on August 8, 1945 to the late Walter & Ludvina (Kessler) Gromaski. She married Terry Pierson on August 10, 1963 in Standish, Michigan.

Joanie will always be remembered for her love of spending time at the family cabin in the U.P., going camping,… Read More » fishing, hunting as well as gardening but most of all she enjoyed spending time with family and friends. She is survived by her husband Terry of 55 years and their children Penny (Dan Walczak) Pierson, Brooke Hammond and Michelle (Jim) Daubert, grandchildren; Dylann and Dakota Hammond, Robbie Pierson, Randee and Angelica Pierson, Darwin Gaines and Darcie (Devin) Moore, and four great grandchildren. Brothers and sisters; Mary (Bob) Heinz, Lottie Wodja, Helen MaKara.

Wally (Sandy) Gromaski, Carol Bacca, two sisters in laws Eleanor Gromaski and Carol Gromaski along with several nieces and nephews. She will be dearly missed by her four-legged children as well Peewee, Poopsie and Tucker. Joanie was predeceased by two sons Randy Pierson and Terry Pierson a son in law Scott Hammond, two brothers Don Gromaski, Ben Gromaski a sister Dorothy Gromaski and three brothers in laws George MaKara, Bill Bacca, Stanley Wodja and Bob Nagy.

A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, September 22, 2018 at 1 pm from the Estey Moose Lodge with Chaplin Mary presiding. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Lee-Ramsay Funeral Home.
