Obituary for Daniel Robins “Dan” Snyder Daniel Robins “Dan” Snyder, 68, of Estero, FL, passed away on Monday, April 23, 2018 surrounded by his loving family at Gulf Coast Medical Center. Formerly of Middletown, NY, he had been a winter resident of Bonita Springs since 2003 before moving permanently to Estero in 2010. He was born May 17, 1949 in Middletown, NY, the son of Frederick and Barbara (née Buxton) Snyder.

Dan was a proud graduate of Georgia Tech University where he earned his Bachelors of Business Management Degree. Mr. Snyder served in the United States Army Reserves. Dan spent most of his working life owning and managing Mid City Transit Corp as a school bus contractor for the Middletown Public School System.

He was a longtime member of Kiwanis International, and served as a board member for the Salvation Army for over 20 years. He was an active member of the Ontario Hose Company #5 in Middletown, NY and served as Fire Chief for the Middletown Fire Department. Dan was an avid golfer, loved community service and enjoyed traveling with his loving wife.

Survivors include his beloved wife of 47 years, Sharon (Repine) Snyder; loving daughters, Jennifer (Stuart) Millar of Costa Rica, Laura (Kent) Craford of Portland, OR; mother, Barbara (Buxton) Snyder of Parker, CO; brother, David (Lynn) Snyder of Portland, OR; sisters, Pamela (Robert Conley) Wolf of Centennial, CO, Sally Brunette of Bellevue, WA; and his seven cherished grandchildren, Cameron, Abby, Abayneh, Wilson, Lillian, Jack, and Samuel. Dan is predeceased in death by his father, Frederick S. Snyder. A celebration of life will be held at a later date and will be announced.
