Darran Patrick Tuthill, 53, of Dubuque, IA passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 28, 2018 at the University of Iowa Hospital and Clinics. According to his wishes there will be no public visitation or service. Leonard Funeral Home and Crematory, 2595 Rockdale Rd.

Dubuque is assisting the family. Darran was born in Dubuque, IA on January 9, 1965 to Carl and Marge (Geotzinger) Tuthill. He was a graduate of Hempstead High School and an employee of what is now Bimbo Bakeries since 1986.

In his free time, Darran loved to hunt, fish and take photographs. He was an excellent craftsman who was always making heartfelt gifts for his loved ones. He is survived by his parents, Carl and Marge Tuthill; his children Courtney (Kyle) Regan, Laura (Jake) Trierweiler, and Dakota (Rebekah) Tuthill; his siblings, Becky (Paul) Shappell, Tim (Carol) Tuthill, Rod (Sharon) Tuthill, Margie (Lance) Thompson and Scott Tuthill, who is also his identical twin; his two grandsons, Aiden and Wyatt; and several nieces, nephews and extended family.

Darran was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, John and Naomi Tuthill; his maternal grandparents, Leo and Maggie Geotzinger, and several aunts, uncles and cousins on both sides of the Tuthill and Geotzinger families. In lieu of flower’s a memorial fund has been established in Darran’s name. His family would like to thank the University of Iowa Hospital and Clinics, especially the staff on the palliative care floor and Leonard Funeral Home for their help in making this transition as easy as possible.
