Devoted son, cherished brother, beloved uncle, David Deryl Simpson, age 62, passed away at his home in Hallsville, Texas on Wednesday, February 20, 2019. David was born in Fort Worth, Texas on October 18, 1956 to Billie Pliler Simpson, Sr. and Mary Kathryn Simpson. He is preceded in death by his father, Billie Pliler Simpson, Sr.; his mother, Mary Kathryn Rushing; and his brother, Billie Simpson, Jr

He is survived by his step-mother, Shirley Marie Simpson; his brothers, George “Lynn” Simpson and his wife, Lynna, and Billy Martin Simpson; his sister, Linda Simpson James and her husband, Ted; his aunt, Melba Curry; his nieces and nephews, Susan Simpson, Michelle Simpson Janosek, Seth James, Jennifer Simpson Capps and Billy Martin Simpson, Jr He is also survived by numerous other family members and friends who knew and loved him. David was a good mechanic who loved working on cars.

Graveside service will be held on Saturday, March 2, 2019 at 2:00pm at Gum Springs Cemetery, Longview, Texas with Dr. William “Bill” Smythe officiating.
