Obituary for David E. Thompson David E. ‘Dave’ Thompson David, 51, of Bluefield, WV, passed away suddenly on Friday, July 27, 2018. He was born on July 21, 1967 to the late Nancy E. Chandler Thompson and William E. Thompson. David grew up and made a lifelong home in Bluefield.

He had a long career as a talented and dedicated electrician, and served many companies prior to starting his own business. David was proud to have worked with so many families in town, and proud to have solved any problem that arose, no matter how big or small, or how much time or thought it took. He had a love for cars and became a fan of NASCAR racing from age 7.

In his free time, David enjoyed biking, hiking, and spending time with friends. He often volunteered his time to help set up community events and programs, and whenever an extra set of hands was needed, he was there no matter the time. David was a thinker and a dreamer and he always had plans for the future with a long to-do list.

David had the most pure heart of gold. He was never seen without his hat and his big charming smile. David leaves behind three sisters, Rhonda Bolton of Princeton, WV, Yvonne Fife of Bluefield, WV, and Anita Brunero of Lincoln, NE; and a wonderful family of aunts, uncles, cousins, nephews, nieces, and brothers-in-law.

He is also survived by a very loving extended family of great friends, all of whom he adored and eagerly shared his life with. He left this world too soon. He will be missed.
