David Earl Hopson Friday Obituary Photo

David Earl Hopson, 55 years young, of Pampa, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, March 15, 2019 in Pampa. He entered this life on January 18, 1964 in Pampa to Clyde and Norma Hopson. David was a life-long resident of Pampa and worked as a truck driver for B&B Solvent.

He married his sweetheart, Anita Shoffner, on February 6, 2006 in Pampa and together enjoyed thirteen adventurous years. David was a family man that deeply loved his wife, children and grandchildren and would spend as much time with them as possible. He was outspoken and honest which meant you never had to guess what he was thinking.

Always the comedian, he would tell funny stories and do anything to get a laugh from his family and friends. He even went as far as partaking in charcoal masks with his granddaughters in order to maintain his young and youthful look. David was everyone’s best friend and would give the shirt off his back to anyone.

He was an animal lover and spoiled his shiatzu’s, or as he referred to them, his “fur sons”, Charlie and Snoopy. It was a very rare occasion to see David without a Dr. Pepper in his hand and snacks and goodies stashed all over the house for when anyone had a sweet tooth. In his spare time, he loved riding his motorcycle, listening to classic rock and tinkering around in the garage.

He will be dearly missed by all who knew him. He is preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, DJ Hopson, Clyde Hopson Jr. and a sister, Maxine Stokes. Those left behind to cherish a lifetime of memories are his wife Anita of the home; two sons, Cody Hopson of Pampa, Jeremy Hernandez of Amarillo; four daughters, Shaley Walker and husband Steven of Texline, Sarah Hopson, Erica Hernandez, Lisa DeWitt and husband Rusty all of Pampa; five brothers, Edward Hopson and wife Rebecca of Pampa, Kenneth Hopson and wife Fawnswa of Pampa, Wallace Hopson and wife Terri Lee of Arizona, Richard Hopson and wife Paula of Lubbock, Donald Hopson of Amarillo; sister, Willa Burgess-Miller of Utah; eleven grandchildren, Kolton Hernandez, Preston Stroud, Bryson Parr, Tyson Parr, Priscilla Hernandez, Kameron Parr, Addison Hernandez, Jymma Hernandez, Olivia Walker, Whitlee DeWitt, Libby Hopson and numerous nieces and nephews.

David will be available for viewing on Monday, March 18th from 2pm to 8pm with a Gathering of Family and Friends from 6pm to 8pm and Tuesday, March 19, from 9am to 8pm. Celebration of Life Graveside Services are scheduled for 10:00 am, March 20, 2019 at Memory Garden Cemetery Mausoleum with Brother Albert Maggard officiating. The family has entrusted the care of their loved one to Winegeart Funeral Home.
