Obituary for David K. Detjen Sr. RICHMOND, Ind. – David K. Detjen Sr., age 67, of Richmond, Indiana, died Saturday, December 15, 2018, at his home. Born May 17, 1951, in Syracuse, New York, to Robert E. and Aileen Odiam Detjen, David worked for 45 years as a chef in many restaurants.

He enjoyed cooking for his friends and family. Survivors include his daughters, Lisa Burton (Danny and Sherry) of Richmond, Daisy Mauro (Tanya) of Syracuse, New York, and Cindy Balzomo (Lou) of Ogden, Utah; son, Jeffery Bodell (Erin) of Riverdale, Utah; 23 grandchildren, Sarilda, Payton, Danny Lee, James, William, and Clayton Sparks, Cody and Katrina Malicoat, Jessica Meek, Elizabeth, Katie, Jonathan, Brandon, Jeremy, and Nicki Detjen, Kari Oakley, David and Justin McEwen, Apple, Sawyer, Tucker, and Atlas Bodell, and Elise Oliver; great-grandchild, Lileigh Burton; sisters, Jeanette Hohm and Carol Cranshaw; nieces; nephews; cousins; and many friends. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth Hild Detjen, who died January 14, 2018; parents; and granddaughters, Charity Detjen and Sandy Sparks.

There will be no services for David K. Detjen Sr. Arrangements are being handled by Doan & Mills Funeral Home, 790 National Road West, Richmond.
