David L. Pontzious, 72 years old, passed away at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday, June 26, 2018 at his home. David was born on October 8, 1945 in Marion, IN to the late William and Justine (Coak) Pontzious. He has been a resident of South Bend/Mishawaka for the past 45 years.

On July 24, 1964 in Andrews, IN, David and Sharon King were united in marriage. David was a retired contractor for Plumber and Pipe Fitters Local 172 in South Bend. Along with his loving wife, Sharon, David is survived by their children, Kristi (Tom) Jackson of Mishawaka, and Scott (Michelle) Pontzious of Osceola; six grandchildren, Kyle (Shelby Butts) Gould, Taylor Pontzious, Morgan Pontzious, Jordan Pontzious, Camryn Pontzious, and Alexa Bendit; one great grandson, Jayden Baugher; two sisters, Linda (Curt) Gates of Albion, IN and Becky Dolby of New Haven, IN; and one brother, Dan (Karen) Pontzious of Phoenix, AZ.

Along with his parents, David was preceded in death by his brother-in-law, Richard Dolby. A celebration of David’s life will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Friday, June 29, 2018 at the Palmer Funeral Home-Guisinger Chapel, 3718 S. Michigan Street, South Bend. Friends may visit with the family from 2:00-4:00 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of David L. Pontzious may be donated to The Vineyard Church, 16219 Jackson Road, Mishawaka, IN 46544. Online condolences may be offered to the Pontzious family at www. palmerfuneralhomes.com.
