DAVID R. SCHLUETER David R. Schlueter, 65, of Canton, Missouri, passed away at 5:10 pm Friday (November 9, 2018) in his home. Born January 10, 1953 in Quincy, Dave was the son of Eugene “Gene” and Martha Louise Conrad Schlueter. He married Patricia “Patti” Harvey on June 24, 1989 in Quincy.

She preceded him in death on September 29, 2013. Dave was a member of Herman Masonic Lodge No. 39 and the Quincy Consistory.

He was an avid dog lover and took great pride in the appearance of his property. Dave enjoyed going to car auctions, bowling, mushroom hunting and spending time with his children, grandchildren and sisters, especially over the 4th of July. Dave owned and operated Sloots Trading Post in Canton, Missouri.

Survivors include two daughters, Tracy Schutte (Jeff) and Dawn Harberts (John); six grandchildren, Dustin Harberts, Devin Harberts, Dylin Harberts, Parker Schutte, Dale Schutte and Maggie Schutte; three brothers, Randy Schlueter, Jerry Schlueter and John Schlueter; two sisters, Ceil Stead (Kevin) and Potsy Brown (Sonny); the mother of his two children, Tessie Bratton; and many nieces and nephews. David was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Patti and his brother Eugene “Gene” Schlueter Jr. Funeral services will be Tuesday afternoon at 1:00 in the Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home with Doug Wilson officiating. Burial will be in Quincy Memorial Park.

Visitation will be held Tuesday morning from 10:00 until the time of services at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association or to the Quincy Humane Society. Arrangements are in the care of the Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home.
