LARRY G. DONALDSON Larry G. Donaldson, 81, of Quincy passed away at 3:26 a.m. Friday (December 28, 2018) in his home. Born May 30, 1937 in McCook, Nebraska. Larry was the son of Russell and Leona Donaldson.

He married Donna Hoxworth on September 10, 1975 in Galesburg. Larry was a member of the Mendon Congregational Church. He loved playing pool with his grandkids and enjoyed playing chess, reading and working on cars.

Larry was a die hard Cubs Baseball Fan and Nebraska Cornhuskers Football Fan. He was also a very accomplished piano player. Larry was employed by the Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railroad as a Wirechief in the Communication Department for 42 years until his retirement.

He also owned and operated the American Community Ambulance Service in Galesburg. Survivors include his wife Donna; one son Vaughn Donaldson (Shannon); a step son Robert Barnes (Kathy); a step daughter Christine Curtis (Wayne); five grandchildren Montgomery Stoneking, Bobby Barnes (Kim), Aubri Bourge (Alex), Zach Barnes, and Matt Barnes (Morgan); two step grandchildren Angela Morrissey and Christine Stupavski (Roger); two great grandchildren Kia Barnes and Keenan Barnes and baby Bourge due in March. Also surviving are 7 step great grandchildren and 2 step great great grandchildren.

Mr. Donaldson was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter Victoria Stoneking and a step grandson Jeremy Curtis. Funeral services will be held Thursday 11:00 a.m. in the Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home with Pastor Tony Metz officiating. Burial will be in the East Linwood Cemetery in Galesburg, IL.

Visitation will be held Thursday morning from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Blessing Diabetes Center.
