David R Ver Strat, 79 of Central Lake, died Tuesday, March 5, 2019 at Meadow Brook Medical Care Facility. He was born December 1, 1939 in Wyoming, the son of Casper and Fern (Ogden) Ver Strat. Dave was an avid outdoors man.

He loved hunting, fishing, and mushrooming. He especially enjoyed spending time with his buddies at deer camp. On March 21, 1975 in Detroit, he married Barbara Ann Gilbert who survives.

Also surviving are his children Debora (Morgan) and George (Sierra) and several other children and loving grandchildren, brother Bill (Betty) Ver Strat, sister Florence Thatcher, sister in law Carol (Tom) Haner, cousin Rand (Mary Kay) Verstrat, deer hunting buddies and cousins Jerry, John, Roger, and Lyle Ver Strat, and lots of friends. Preceding him in death were his parents, his sister Velma and his brother Melvin. No services are planned at this time.
