David Wayne Kinney, 65, of Fountain Hill, went to be with his Heavenly Father on Thursday, January 17, 2019, at Drew Memorial Hospital. David was a native of Bastrop, Louisiana and a resident of Bastrop until 1985, when he moved to Fountain Hill. He graduated from Bastrop High School and worked in the Woodyard for Georgia-Pacific until his retirement, after 30 years.

He was a member of Zion United Methodist Church in Milo. An avid hunter, fisherman, he loved riding horses and teaching his grandchildren to ride. David was a family man and loved spending time with his wife, children, and grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his father, Theodore Kinney. David is survived by his loving wife, who adored him, and best friend of 32 years, Diane Pennington Kinney of Fountain Hill; his children, Mallie Ward and husband, Chris, of Milo, Sheena Little and husband, Greg, of Fountain Hill, Jeffery Kinney and wife, Lisa, of Bastrop, Louisiana and Brad Barfield and wife, Whitney, of Crossett; his mother, Opal Mathews Kinney of Bastrop, Louisiana; his brothers, Gary Kinney and wife, Patty, and Joel Kinney and wife, Charlene, all of Bastrop, Louisiana; ten grandchildren, Andrew Ward and wife, Kaci, Breckin Barfield, Bennett Barfield, Brook Kinney, Jordan Kinney, Hope Linderman, Perseyas Little, Reanezmae Little, Proctor Little and Marvel Little, his 1st great-grandchild, Foster Ward, due to make an appearance in March and three nephews. A celebration of life service will be 2 p.m., Sunday, January 20, 2019, at Zion United Methodist Church in Milo with Bro.

Ralph “Buddy” Kinney officiating. Burial will be in the Zion Cemetery. Pallbearers are Andrew Ward, James Rodney Sowyers, Jimmy Kinney, William Sowyers, Joey Sowyers, and Andy Riels.

Honorary Pallbearers are Bruce Cockerham, Louis Eppinette, Rodney Adams, Larry Stanley, Terry Tucker, Tony Craig, Breckin Barfield, and Proctor Little. Visitation will be 5-8 p.m., Saturday at the church.
