Debby’s Obituary Debby Nix Gregory, 71, of Jena, Louisiana, was received into Heaven on Friday, March 8, 2019, at LaSalle General Hospital. She was born August 21, 1947, to John Wade Nix, Jr. and Berdina McNeely Nix in Alexandria, Louisiana. She was a graduate of Jena High School and received a degree in Computer Science from Nicholls State University.

Debby worked as a legal secretary for many years before working as a programmer, and as a secretary/bookkeeper in the oil industry. She attended Oak Grove Baptist Church, and was involved in the AWANA program, teaching children how to “hide God’s Word in their hearts”. Debby met the love of her life, Terry Gregory, in 1994, and would have celebrated their 25th Wedding Anniversary in May.

Debby is preceded in death by her parents, J.W. Nix, Jr. and Berdina (McNeely) Nix, one brother, Robert Wade “Buddy” Nix, and great nephew, Tristan Wade Allen. Those left to cherish her memory include her husband, Terry Jay Gregory of Jena; sister, Linda Nix Kendrick (and husband Charles Kendrick) of Lafayette; sister-in-law, Sarah Paul Nix (wife of the late Buddy Nix) of Urania; son, John Robert Lee (and wife Melissa Lee) of Greenbrier, Arkansas; grandchildren, Robert Benjamin Lee and Anna Charlene Lee also of Greenbrier; and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held on Saturday, March 9, 2019, at Kinner & Stevens Funeral Home in Jena, from 5:00 – 8:00 PM.

Services will be held in the Chapel of Kinner & Stevens on Sunday, March 10, 2019, at 2:00 PM, with Rev. Johnnie Phillips officiating. Interment will follow at the Jena Cemetery under the direction of Kinner & Stevens Funeral Home.

Pallbearers are Allen Craig, Heath Munholland, Reyn Munholland, Rocky Ray, Kevin Wilson, and Kevin Windham. Honorary pallbearers are Benjamin Lee, Robert “Bob” Killingsworth, and Raymond Smith.
