Debra (Debi)’s Obituary Debra Kay “Debi” Beck-Trueblood, age 57 of Anderson and formerly of Elwood, passed away unexpectedly in her sleep on February 13, 2019 at her residence, and God gained another Heavenly Angel. She was born September 5, 1961 in Elwood, the daughter of Paul “Ed” and Judy (Blaylock) Beck. Debra was a 1979 graduate of Elwood Community High School, and attended the nursing program at Indiana University in Kokomo.
She graduated from Ball State University in Muncie with a Bachelor’s Degree in nursing. Debi was passionate about nursing and formerly worked as a registered nurse at St. Vincent Hospitals in Elwood, Carmel, and Indianapolis. As someone who was always caring for others, she also worked in several nursing facilities in the area.
She married Howard “Leon” Trueblood on December 27, 1991 and they were blessed with 27 years of marriage together. Debra was currently working for Amazon Corporation in the Whitestown Distribution Center as a product picker at the facility for the past 5 years. Debi was a member of the Frankton Christian Church where she and Leon attended for many years.
She especially loved spending vacations in Gatlinburg, TN where they have visited numerous times together. Debi was a devoted wife, daughter, mother, and grandmother; and she enjoyed crocheting, cooking, playing games with her family, and cheering for the Indianapolis Colts. Debi was also an avid NASCAR fan and especially liked Dale Earnhardt, Jr
She was known for taking pictures of everyone and everything, and she enjoyed connecting with friends and family on social media with her interesting picture posts. She was certainly the light of the party, and no one will ever forget the impact she had on so many other lives. She will be truly missed.
Her family includes her husband, Howard “Leon” Trueblood of Anderson; parents; Paul and Judy (Blaylock) Beck of Elwood; 2 children, Nathan (wife Cindy) Trueblood of Orestes and Amanda Trueblood of Alexandria; maternal grandmother, Ethel Blaylock of Elwood; paternal grandmother, Mary Adams of Anderson; sister, Tracy Riser of Elwood; mother-in-law, Francis Trueblood of Frankton; 4 grandchildren, Nathalie Trueblood, Trenten LaShure, Mia Trueblood, and Nora Trueblood; special great niece and “little sister”, Trista Lynn Bingham (fiancé Jordon Driffill); niece, Ashley (husband Danny) Jackson; nephew, Jeffrey (wife Adrienne) Jones; 3 great-nephews, Braydon, Mason, and Landon; 2 sisters-in-law, Diane Dennis of Frankton and Gail Trueblood of Rushville; and several aunts, uncles, and special cousins. Debi was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather, John Blaylock; paternal grandfather, Paul Beck; son-in-law, Trent LaShure; father-in-law, Howard Trueblood; and brother-in-law, Ronald Trueblood. A funeral service honoring Debra’s life will be conducted at 2:00 pm on Monday, February 18, 2019 at Copher-Fesler-May Funeral Home in Elwood with Rev.
Roger Brooks of the Frankton Christian Church officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Park in Elwood. Visitation for family and friends will be held from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm prior to the funeral on Monday at Copher-Fesler-May Funeral Home.
The funeral will begin with a Nursing Honor Guard dedication. Memorial contributions are suggested to Riley Children’s Hospital through the funeral home. Online expressions of condolence may be made at copherfeslermay.com.
