Eva’s Obituary Eva Faye Erdman, age 80 of Elwood, passed away peacefully on Friday, March 15, 2019 at Community Parkview Care Center in Elwood surrounded by her children and a special nephew, Davey Crockett, following declining health – but a very happy life. She was born January 11, 1939 in Shirley, Indiana, the daughter of Orville L. and Bernetha A. (Lindsay) Ebbert. She was a 1957 graduate of Wendell L. Willkie High School.
She married the love of her life, Norman L. Erdman on July 18, 1959, and they shared over 58 years of marriage together before his passing in 2018. Eva worked as a clerk at the G.C. Murphy Store in Elwood for over 15 years, and later worked at J. Lewis Small Co. in Elwood for several years before retirement in 1982. She formerly attended Grace United Methodist Church in Elwood for many years.
Eva enjoyed several memorable trips to Florida with Norman, and they especially enjoyed touring fall festivals around Madison, Indiana. She enjoyed playing games, checkers, and euchre. Eva was known for reading the newspaper every day.
More than anything, her family was the focus of her life; and she was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. Eva’s family would like to thank the staff at Community Parkview Care Center and Southern Care Hospice in Muncie for the wonderful, heartfelt care they provided to Eva over the last couple years.
Eva’s family legacy includes her daughter, Debbie (husband Roger) Boruff of Elwood; son, Mike (wife Patty) Erdman of Elwood; 4 grandchildren, Douglas (wife Morgan) Mitchell, Christy Erdman (wife Heather Emerick), Nathan (wife Amanda) Boruff, and Derek (wife Katie) Boruff; 4 great-grandchildren, Brayton Mitchell, Jayden Brock, Savannah Boruff, and William Boruff; and numerous nieces and nephews. Erdman in 2018; 5 sisters, Fern Johnson, Helen Wisehart, Mary Howe, Anna May Crockett, and Elouise Jane Wisehart; and 3 brothers, Ralph Ebbert, Dale Ebbert, and John Orville Ebbert.
