Sadye Ruth Marcrum, age 83, of Anderson, passed away on Saturday, March 2, 2019 at Bethany Point Health Campus following an extended illness. She was born in Scottsville, KY on September 14, 1935, to the late Andrew Washington and Ruby Florence (Anderson) Duke. Sadye was homemaker most of her life.

On November 24, 1986 in Deland, FL she married George G. Marcrum and they shared over 32 years of marriage. Sadye enjoyed singing in the choir at Wears Valley Church in Tennessee and also enjoyed helping at many church functions over the years. Sadye collected dolls, angels and enjoyed crafting dolls and fishing.

She formerly enjoyed quilting and making quilts for her family members. Over the years Sadye and George hosted a number of foreign exchange students and remain in contact with several of them to this day. She will be sadly missed but lovingly remembered by her family and friends.

Sadye is survived by her loving husband, of 32 years, George G. Marcrum; son, James “JR” (wife Debby) Marcrum; 2 daughters, Nancy (husband Chuck) Hazelbaker and Aileen Marcrum, 15 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; one great-great granddaughter; brother, Joseph (wife Janice ) Duke; daughter-in-law, Linda Marcrum; and several nieces and nephews. Sadye was preceded in death by her parents; sons, Larry and Billy Marcrum; 1st husband James D. Marcrum; 2 sisters, Wanda Hogue and Rachel Guffey and a brother, Harry Duke. Funeral services will be at 1:00 pm Thursday, March 7, 2019 at Dunnichay Funeral Home, Elwood, with Pastor Gary Britton officiating.

Burial will follow in the K of P & IOOF Cemetery in Frankton. Visitation will be Wednesday, March 6, 2019, 4:00 pm – 8:00 pm, at Dunnichay Funeral Home, 1113 S. Anderson Street, Elwood, Indiana. Online condolences can be given at www.
