Laura Mae Neese, age 71, of Elwood, passed away on Saturday, May 18, 2019 at St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis. She was born on May 24, 1947 in California, to the late Ralph and Ruth (Stewart) Huntsman. On June 9, 1963 she married Byron L. “Bud” Neese and they shared 56 years together before his death in 2010.

Laura retired in 2002 from General Motors where she worked in production for many years. She loved flowers and gardening, working puzzles, and spending time with her animals. she also enjoyed spending time at her lake house, watching movies and going to festivals.

She loved to listen to 50’s and 60’s music especially Elvis Presley. Laura is survived by 2 sons, David Neese and Eric Neese both of Elwood, grandchildren, Erika (Tony) Capozzoli, Kaylee( fiance’ Christopher Stirling) Neese, and Katelyn Neese, great-grandchildren, Jonathan Neese, Nicholas Foster, Madison Foster, Braydon Neese, and Logan Capozzoli, and several nieces and nephews. Laura was preceded in death by her parents Ralph and Ruth Huntsman, husband, Byron L. “Bud” Neese, daughter, Cynthia Neese, and sister, Juanita Harney.

Funeral service will be at 11:00 am Thursday, May 23, 2019 at Dunnichay Funeral Home, Elwood, Indiana with Pastor Amos Carmichael officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery in Elwood. Visitation will be Wednesday, May 22, 2019, 4:00 pm – 8:00 pm, at Dunnichay Funeral Home, 1113 S. Anderson Street, Elwood, Indiana.
