Terry Shawn Bitner, age 53, of Elwood, passed away on Saturday, March 23, 2019 at St. Vincent Mercy Hospital following a lifelong battle with diabetes. He was born in Anderson on April 19, 1965. Terry was at 1983 graduate of Tipton High School.

He was formerly employed by Wicks Lumber in Elwood for a number of years. On January 13, 2000 he married Cherri Lynn(Foor) Bitner and she passed away on April 25, 2018. Terry was an avid NASCAR fan and loved to watch the Indianapolis Colts.

Terry is survived by his parent Billy David and Pauline Elizabeth Bitner of Kempton; sister, Tracy (husband Scott) Piel of Tipton; two nieces Kylie Piel, and Jessica Piel; several aunts uncles and cousins; and his beloved pets Sandy (dog), Tibby (cat), and Baby (cat). He was preceded in death by his wife, Cherri Bitner; and his grandparents. A funeral service to celebrate his life will be at 7:00 pm Wednesday, March 27, 2019 at Dunnichay Funeral Home, Elwood, Indiana with Pastor Jeff Haill officiating.

Visitation will be Wednesday, March 27, 2019, 4:00 pm – 7:00 pm, at Dunnichay Funeral Home, 1113 S. Anderson Street, Elwood, Indiana. Memorial contributions may be made to the Elwood Animal Shelter or the American Diabetes Association. Online condolences can be given at www.
