Obituary for Deloris Jean Johnson Tipton Mrs. Deloris Jean Johnson Tipton, 73, passed away Saturday, November 10, 2018, at her home in Kannapolis. A funeral service is scheduled for 11:00 am Tuesday, November 13, 2018, at Lady’s Funeral Home Chapel. Rev.

Chris O’Guin will officiate. Interment will follow at West Lawn Memorial Park in China Grove. The family will receive friends from 10 to 10:45 am Tuesday at Lady’s Funeral Home.

Mrs. Tipton was born August 31, 1945 in Dayton, OH. She was a daughter of the late Lesley Johnson and Dora Hammonds Johnson. She was raised in a loving home by her foster parents, the late Alvin and Delphia Abney.

She was a loving wife of 55 years. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, James Tipton; a brother, Larry Johnson; and a sister, Jane Shivel. Mrs. Tipton is survived by her husband, Virgil Tyrone Tipton; daughter, Tammy Tucker and husband Robert of Kannapolis; a brother, Billy Tracy; two sisters, Kathy Harter and Judy Baker; five grandchildren, Brandon Tipton and wife Natalie, Justin Tipton, Caroline Josey and husband Matt, Chelsea Parker and husband Chad and Arianna Tucker; and three great grandchildren; Levi Parker, Isaac Tipton and Eden Parker.
