Jerry Lee Rucker, 64, of Summer Pine Place, Kannapolis, NC, passed away Tuesday, December 25, at Atrium Health-Northeast. He was born June 9, 1954 in Cabarrus County to the late Robert Lee Rucker, Sr. and the late Rosa Lee McClendon Rucker. Jerry was educated in the Cabarrus County School System and was a 1974 graduate of Northwest Cabarrus High School.

He was formerly employed with the Cabarrus County School System. Jerry was a member of Macedonia Baptist Church. Services will be held Saturday, December 29, at Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church, 6734 Macedonia Church Road, Concord, NC.

Visitation will be 1:00 PM –2:00 PM with funeral services at 2:00. Burial will follow at the church cemetery. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a sister, Shirley Ann McClendon.

Those left to cherish fond memories include his wife, Lanita Bost Rucker of the home; one daughter, Lametta Rucker of Kannapolis; one son, Gerard L. Rucker (Brianne) of Kannapolis; four grandchildren, Maya Rucker, De’ Maryen Miller, London Rucker, Gavyn Rucker; four sisters, Etheleen Williamson (Jeff) and Mary Helen Williamson (Kenneth) both of Kannapolis, Darlene Leazer (Rev. John N.) of Salisbury, Rosa McKiver of Concord; four brothers, Michael Kibler (Brenda) of Maryland, Terry Lee Rucker (Janice) of Harrisburg, NC, Lowery Donnell Rucker (Wanda) and Robert Lee Rucker, Jr. (Jacqueline) both of Kannapolis; special friend Eugene Barber of Kannapolis and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
