Obituary for Phila Vongphachanh Mr. Phila Vongphachanh, 88, passed away Tuesday, December 18, 2018, at Liberty Commons Nursing and Rehab Center in Salisbury. A funeral service is scheduled for 1:00 pm Sunday, December 23, 2018, at Lady’s Funeral Home Chapel. Mr. Vongphachanh was born November 17, 1930 in Vientiane, Laos.

He was a son of the late Pha Vongphachanh and Thanh Keophila Vongphachanh. He attended the Army School and lived in Vietanice, Laos for a number of years. Later, he and his family moved to Thailand, the Philippines, and the USA.

When he first moved to the USA, he lived in Hartford, CT, then later to San Diego, CA and finally settled in North Carolina. He loved his family, especially his grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Thao Mouk and Thao Ouane.

Mr. Vongphachanh is survived by his wife, Khamvanh Lamanivong Vongphachanh; five children, Souvanna Vongphachanh, Phouanmala Saysombath, Phouanmalay Attitage, Souvanvanh Vongphachanh and Souvanny Vongphachanh; eleven grandchildren, Darouary Vongphachanh, Vanida Vongphachanh, Julie Vongphachanh, Mary Athitang, Sousada Vongphachanh, Nancy Vongdara, Vincky Athitang, Dolly Athitang, Janet Vongdara, Andrew Vongphachanh and Darren Vongphachanh; two great grandchildren, Ariel Long and Kon Vongphachanh; five brothers, Thao Khamha, Thao Phengta, Thao Phila, Thao Sypha, and Thao Khamla; and two sisters, Nang Bounema and Nang Souk.
