He was born on July 20, 1998 in Granite City, IL to Demetre Cortez Hollingsworth, Sr and Nicole nee: Jacks Godspower. Demetre liked studying different languages and learning about the healing powers of herbs.

He was an avid reader, wrote poetry and considered himself a freelance writer. He modeled part time and loved spending time with his many nieces and nephews. Demetre attended the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah Witnesses in his youth.

Besides his parents, Demetre is survived by 2 sisters: Ryann Samuels of Granite City, IL and Bryan-Nicole Samuels of Granite City, IL; 4 brothers: Nicolis Samuels of Granite City, IL, Byran (Latresha) Samuels of East St. Louis, IL, Maurice N. Hollingsworth of Kansas City, KS and Demetre Hollingsworth, Jr of Kansas City, KS; paternal grandfather, Carlin Macon of Kansas City, KS; an aunt, Ruth (Felicia) Jacks of Dallas, TX and an uncle, Eric (Lisa) Jacks of Granite City, IL. Demetre is preceded in death by his paternal grandmother, Sandra Hollingsworth and his maternal grandparents: Therica and Helen Jacks. Also preceding Demetre in death are two uncles: David Jacks and Maurice S. Hollingsworth.
