Obituary for Dennis Ray Whidby Ray Whidby went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, September 11, 2018 at age 66. He is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Linda Jones Whidby; one son, Daniel Ray (Shelly) Whidby; one daughter, Kelli (Ashish) Sahai; one granddaughter, Emma Whidby; two grandsons, James Whidby and Krish Sahai; one sister Debbie (Johnny) MacAllister; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Ray was preceded in death by his parents, J.O. & Louise Whidby and one brother, Richard Whidby.

As a graduate of Samford University, he had a lifelong career in law enforcement and worked in Corporate Security for Alabama Power for the past 15 years. Ray will be remembered as a loving husband, father, and grandfather and will be missed by all who knew him. Visitation will be held Thursday, September 13, 2018 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at The New Gardendale Funeral Home.
