OBITUARY Nancy Craven Hinton August 2, 1935 – August 21, 2018 Nancy Cravens Hinton Obituary (Born August 12, 1935, Died August 21, 2018) Nancy Cravens Hinton of Hayden, Alabama, formerly of Tallahassee, Florida and Lake Crescent Hills in Clermont, Florida passed away on Tuesday, August 21, 2018 at the age of 83 years. Nancy was born in Memphis, Tennessee. She married William Carroll “W.C.” Hinton, Jr. in 1956.

Together they served as Missionaries in Japan for 8 years. Nancy loved to travel and meet new people and experience different cultures. She was a world traveler and even served as a tour guide.

She and W.C. were married for 33 years before he passed away in 1989. While living in Chicago, Illinois in the mid 1970’s, she was a Sales Director for Mary Kay Cosmetics. Her experience with Mary Kay led her and W.C. to go in to business and open CLS Printing in Tallahassee, Florida.

She was very active and loved people. Nancy never met a stranger. She was a member of the Northeast Business Association as well as the Tallahassee Garden Club.

She was also a lifetime member and supporter of the Tallahassee Little Theater. Nancy was a singer in the women’s A cappella group, Harmony Inc. in Clermont, singing in barbershop style. She was also a member of the Clermont Garden Club.

She lived in Clermont for 9 years before moving to Hayden in 2012. A woman of God, she was a member of the Selfville Church of Christ, Selfville, AL. Recently, she enjoyed making embroidered t-shirts and loved to give them out to people.

Nancy is remembered and will be dearly missed by her son, Stephen Carroll Hinton of Atlanta, GA; son and daughter-in-law, David Bruce and Melissa Hinton of Tallahassee; son and daughter-in-law, Jonathan Andrew and Christina Hinton of Tallahassee; daughter and son-in-law, Cynthia Denise and Rhodes Davis of Hayden, AL; sister, Imelda Cravens Sowers of Clermont; 12 grandchildren, David Tanner Hinton, Kaylin Marie Hinton, Garret Sage Hinton, Hailey Brooke Hinton, Colten Andrew Hinton, Camren Taylor Hinton, Rhodes Floyd Davis, Jr., Jessica Leigh Davis, Margaret Campbell Davis, Annalyn Carroll Davis, John Luke Jennings and Cynthia R. Jennings; 1 great grandson, Owen Joseph Boynton; as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins. Florida Services – Family and friends are invited to gather on Saturday, August 25 from 2:00 – 4:00 pm with a Memorial Ceremony starting at 4:00 pm in the funeral home chapel. Alabama Services – Family and friends are invited to gather on Saturday, September 8 from 1:00 – 3:00 pm with a Memorial Ceremony starting at 3:00 pm at Ridout’s Gardendale Chapel, 2029 Decatur Highway, Gardendale, AL 35071; 205-631-6252.
