Obituary for Dennis W. Johnson Ppassed away peacefully at Joliet Area Community Hospice Home, with his family by his side. Sunday, May 20, 2018. Age 69 years.

Survived by his loving wife of 33 years Gayle Johnson (nee Friend). Two daughters Jana (Ben Maffit) Kovis and Jill (Michael) Sawyer. A son Mike (Melissa) Johnson.

Eight grandchildren Tess, Brandon, Ellis, Monty, Myah, Maddie, Annie and Lea. Two sisters Linda and Lisa Johnson and his brother Bill Johnson. Also several nieces and nephew survive.

Preceded in death by his parents Wayne M. and Vietta M. Johnson. Dennis was born in Sycamore, IL. on February 17, 1949.

Graduate of Joliet Township High School Class of 1967. Dennis retired from Retro Systems in Wichita, KS. as a sales manager in the welding and cutting industries.

Veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps. Serving in Vietnam and recipient of the Purple Heart Medal. Dennis was a member of the Morris Country Club, where he enjoyed many rounds of golf with his golfing buddies.

He also enjoyed spending time with his family, music, cars, motorcycles, landscaping and his beloved dog Sandy. Memorial Service will be held at Carlson-Holmquist- Sayles Funeral Home & Crematory, 2320 Black Road, Wednesday, May 30th at 11:00 A.M. Inurnment Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials to Joliet Area Community Hospice will be appreciated.
