Rosemary E. Konopek (nee Dorr), age 82, born into eternal life on Wednesday, May 9, 2018. Rosemary is survived by her beloved husband of 54 years, John J. Konopek Sr.; son, John Jr. (Maureen) Konopek; son-in-law, Sean (the late Janine) Kaye; grandchildren, Caitlin and Nick Konopek and Jacob and Logan Kaye; sister, Colette Depratt; sister-in-law, Joanne (the late Leonard) Dorr; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Preceded in death by her daughter, Janine Kaye (2015); parents, Joseph and Mary (nee Terlep) Dorr; brother, Leonard Dorr; and sister-in-law, Norine Mulbarger.

Rosemary was an active parishioner of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Joliet and a devout Catholic. She was president of the St. Joseph Altar and Rosary Society, KSKJ, St. Joseph Senior Association, the Slovenian Catholic League-former member, Joliet Catholic Mother’s Club, American Legion Post 1080 Women’s Auxiliary, the Homeowners Association of Fairway Estates and a life member of the Telephone Pioneers. She was always busy helping and coordinating events and greatly valued all of the friendships she gained throughout the years.

Rosemary also enjoyed organizing the craft show at St Joseph Park and giving back to the community in numerous ways. She was an outstanding wife, mother, grandmother and sister who will be dearly missed. In lieu of flowers, donations in Rosemary’s name to the St. Joseph Church Organ Restoration Fund or the charity of your choice would be appreciated.

A celebration of Rosemary’s life will begin on Monday, May 14, 2018 with prayers in the funeral home chapel at 9:15 a.m. then driving in procession to St. Joseph Catholic Church for a Mass of Christian Burial to be held at 10:00 a.m. Interment of cremated remains to follow at St. Joseph Cemetery in Joliet. Visitation will be on Sunday, May 13, 2018 at Tezak Funeral Home, 1211 Plainfield Road, Joliet from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Cremation rites will be accorded following the visitation.
