Obituary for Dexter Dale Cook Funeral Services for Dexter Dale Cook, age 61 of Big Sandy, Texas, are scheduled for 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 16,2018 at the First Baptist Church in Winona, Texas with Bro. Wade Maberry officiating. Interment will follow at Cathedral in the Pines Cemetery in Tyler, Texas under the direction of Caudle-Rutledge-Daugherty Funeral Home in Lindale, Texas.

Dexter passed away at his home on Thursday, October 11, 2018. He was born September 12, 1957 in Vicksburg, Mississippi to the late Doyle David and Doris Odel (Stafford) Cook. Dexter served his country in The United States Marine Corps and has lived in the Big Sandy and Tyler area for the last 38 years.

He was a retired Captain with the Tyler Fire Department and was a member of the First Baptist Church in Winona, Texas where he served as a Deacon. Dexter had a sincere passion for deer hunting and all things outdoors. He was well known for being an upstanding Christian man, a wonderful singer, and for having a true servant’s heart, as he would gladly help anyone in need.

Dexter is survived by his wife, Lidia Cook of Big Sandy, Texas; daughter, Jessica Watkins and husband, Trent of Sulphur Springs, Texas; sons, Cody Cook of Big Sandy, Texas, David Cook and wife, Becca of Virginia; step-daughter, Michelle Marsh and husband, LTC Glenn of Fairfax, Virginia; siblings, Delores Kinder and husband, Tom of Port Arthur, Texas, Daryl Cook and wife, Nona of Hawkins, Texas, Donna Rosamond of Preston, Mississippi, Dennis Cook and wife, Mallie of Hawkins, Texas; grandchildren, Dakota Watkins, Lindsey Rogers, Faith Watkins, Paisley Watkins, Brody Watkins, Chandler Cook, Matthew Cook, Ryder Toy, Zachery Cook, Madison Cook, Annaleigh Marsh, Ellyse Marsh; and numerous nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Daryl Cook, Cameron Cook, Dennis Cook, Ken Culpepper, Jim Mullicane and John Rains. Serving as Honorary Pallbearers will be members of the Tyler Fire Department.

Family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday, October 15, 2018 at Caudle-Rutledge-Daugherty Funeral Home in Lindale, Texas. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Tyler Professional Fire Fighters Association Relief Fund, in memory of Dexter Cook at any Southside Bank location or may be mailed to P.O.
