On Friday, June 29, 2018, Dian Firsching Giglio, originally from Oriskany, NY passed away peacefully in North Carolina with her family holding her hands every step of the way. She was a fighter and fought as hard as she could until the end. As her granddaughter eloquently put it, “A lady always knows when to leave a party, and this was no exception”.

She retired from Bernie Bus in 2017, where she drove a Special Education bus for over 30 years. She loved her kids on her bus as much as she loved her own children and grandchildren. A day didn’t pass without her knitting something.

She loved birds, flowers, laughter, and people! She was a member of the Our Lady of Lourdes choir for close to 40 years, where she sang her heart out every Sunday. Dian was born into an amazing family.

She is preceded by her parents, Helen and George Firsching, along with her brother-in-law, John Roberts. She is survived by her very dear sister, Blanche Roberts, of Leesburgh, Florida, her daughters Deborah Giglio, Tammy Giglio and Michelle Clark, all of Raleigh,NC, her son, Nicholas Giglio, of Utica, NY, her grandchildren Caila Giglio, Emily Giglio, Olivia Giglio and Lucas Kashmiry, all of Raleigh, NC, along with many dear nieces and nephews and many others whom she loved like their own mother. A celebration of Dian’s life will be held at 9:30 am on Saturday, July 21st at Our Lady of Lourdes Church in Utica, NY.

In lieu of flowers, donations in honor of Dian to Our Lady of Lourdes Church will be welcomed.
