Obituary for Diana Lee (Hardy) Nixon Diana Lee (Hardy) Nixon was born October 12, 1945 in Detroit, Michigan and was preceded in death by her mother Eva (Hardy) Nixon, and fathers James R Crum and Henry Nixon Jr. As the eldest among her siblings, Diana had a keen sense of caring and nurturing at an early age, often overseeing her sisters and cousins within her close-knit family. Accepting Christ at an early age, she walked in great faith and incorporated Christian values to all facets of her life, exhibiting extraordinary strength and independence while singlehandedly nurturing her son, and always crediting her successes to God’s grace and mercy. Diana followed her talent of caring for others by obtaining her Associates degree in Nursing from Highland Park Community College School of Nursing in Detroit, Michigan.

As a nurse, she spent the majority of her career as a Staff Oncology Nurse for Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, Michigan and continued this field of emphasis after moving to Powder Springs, Georgia in 1998, where she worked as an Oncology Nurse for Cobb Wellstar Hospital in Austell, Georgia and later retired as an Oncology Nurse for Emory Hospital in Atlanta, Georgia. Diana was a member of the Oncology Nurse’s Society and a member of the South Cobb Church of Christ. Diana departed this life on June 5, 2018 surrounded by her loving family and friends.

She leaves to cherish her precious memories: her son, David Nixon (Monifa); three grandchildren, Patrick Bennett, Tatiana Nixon Johnson (Covonte), and Jasmine Nixon; two great-grandchildren, Angel Bennett and Christian Bennett; step-mother Lolita Crum; two sisters, Mary Campbell and Patricia Nixon; one brother, Phillip Crum (Vernette); five nieces, Eboni Campbell, Jennifer Smith, Adrienne Smith, Courtney Crum and Nicole Davis (Ronriquez); one nephew, Brian Crum (Lisa), and a host of family and friends.
