Obituary for Mariella Laday Mariella Laday, 75 of Marietta, GA entered into eternal rest on Sunday, May 27, 2018. The family will be receiving guests 30 minutes prior to the service which begins at 11am at Holy Family Catholic church in Marietta, Ga. She will be interred in Franklin Memorial Park in North Brunswick, NJ.

Miss Laday was born in NJ to Joseph and Theresa Laday in September 1942. She was raised in Milltown, NJ and graduated from New Brunswick High School. In 1962 she lived in NYC where she earned a certificate from the Great Eastern Physician’s Assistant School.

Her independent spirit inspired her to move to Marietta GA in 1976 where she worked for numerous years at Eastern Airlines and Equifax. She joined the Holy Family Catholic Church and was an active member. Mariella was a devout Catholic & professed lay Carmelite taking her final vows of consecration in July 2000.

Miss Laday was an excellent cook and enjoyed preparing meals for her family and friends. Over the years she collected a large library of cookbooks from around the world. In her spare time Miss Laday enjoyed her Australian Terriers, reading, her Red Hat Society ladies and traveling the world.

Her faith guided her on a humanitarian trip to India where she assisted children at one of Mother Theresa’s homes. Her kind heart and jovial attitude enable her to make friends wherever she traveled. Following in her mother’s footsteps, Miss Laday was a passionate supporter of women’s issues and kept abreast of all political and social issues.

She was an ardent writer and keeper of the family stories. Mariella Laday is preceded in death by her mother, Theresa (nee Grebely) Laday, Her father, Joseph Laday, and her brother, James M. Laday. Miss Laday is survived by her brother, Jerome M. Laday and his wife Elaine, of Edison NJ; her sister in law, Christine P. Laday of Bloomfield, NJ and her loving nieces and nephews.
