Obituary for Tommy D. Farr Tommy Dean Farr was born January 26, 1955 in Rome, GA. He leaves behind his wife of 35 years, Becky Johnson Farr and son, Jamison Andrew Farr. He went to his Heavenly Home July 4, 2018 after a short bout with cancer.

Service will be held 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, at Powder Springs First Baptist Church with Dr. Michael D. Woods and Dr. Wayne Meadows officiating. He was preceded in death by his father, John W. Farr, Jr., his grandparents, Felt and Louise Lanham, and John W. Farr, Sr. and Clara Tomlin Farr. Tommy grew up in Rome, graduated from Pepperrell High School, Shorter University, Georgia Southern and West Georgia College with a Specialist in Education, Administration and Supervision.

His first teaching position was at Brunswick High School in Brunswick, GA. In the fall of 1983 he joined the staff at McEachern High School as an English Teacher and later became Associate Principal. Working at many positions, he was at Cobb County Board of Education Central Office, became Principal of Tapp Middle School, then returning to McEachern as Principal.

He retired as Director of Adult Education. After retirement he continued to serve as GED Test Administrator at Adult Education until his recent illness. Tommy enjoyed spending time with his family, traveling to different areas of the world, his yard work, tending pets throughout the years, including House Bunnies and recently Dachshunds, cruises and beach trips.

His favorite past time was cooking, spending time in his back yard pool and in recent years had taken up camping. Tommy, Becky and Jamison were members at First Baptist Church of Powder Springs for many years. After moving to Paulding County they became members of Poplar Springs Baptist Church.
