Obituary for Dolores M. Souza Dolores M. Souza May 4, 1933 – May 10, 2018 Dolores M. Souza passed away suddenly Thursday morning in a local hospital. She was a native and lifelong resident of Benicia. Dolores worked more than 40 years for the federal government beginning at the Benicia Arsenal and later at the Social Security Administration before retiring in 1990.
Dolores was a longtime member of St. Dominic’s Church, the Benicia Holy Ghost Society and the Y.L.I. She was an accomplished seamstress and made many of her own clothes. She is survived by Sil, her husband for the past 58 years; brother Frank Bernard and her nephew Frank (wife Sugi) Bernard.
Visitation will be after 2:00 p.m. Monday at Passalacqua Funeral Chapel. Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11:00 a.m. Tuesday at St. Dominic’s Church. Burial will follow at St. Dominic’s Cemetery.
