Obituary for Rosalinda de los reyes Marble Rosalinda De Los Reyes Marble passed away peacefully on Friday, June 29, 2018, surrounded by her loving family. She was 81 years old. A graduate of the University of the Philippines, Rosalinda became a travel agent, housewife, and mother of four boys.

In April 1973, not content with her occupation and the current state of her married life, she set off with a suitcase and a promise to bring her young sons to the States. After five months in California and a lengthy one-day courtship, she married George Marble, whom she later described as her “handsome George Clooney”. Rosalinda fulfilled her promise one year later in November 1974 when she greeted her sons on the tarmac at San Francisco International Airport.

Her intense determination allowed her to ascend the ranks of the Bank of America headquarters, from a clerk to Vice President of the San Francisco branch’s Securities Department. Though her career successes were hard-fought and long overdue, breaking ceilings of both color and gender, Rosalinda always found time to prepare a home-cooked meal for her family every evening. Not satisfied with the limited space of their small Daly City home, George and Rosalinda found the quaint bedroom community of Benicia.

Since 1979, the Marble-Paterno families called Benicia their home. Rosalinda loved family, travel, dining, and music above all else. She adored her six grandchildren Nicholas, Matthew, Alexander, Caleb, Annika, and Lucas.

Rosalinda’s favorite cities were Rome, Paris, and London where she and her entire family enjoyed the local sights and cuisine during their summer vacations. As a devout Catholic and member of St. Dominic’s Church, Rosalinda dedicated herself to make holy pilgrimages to Ávila, Spain, and Lourdes, France. Rosalinda was, and always will be, the foundation of her family.

She is survived by her husband George, her sons and their wives Conrad and Amy, Christopher and Barbara, Ronald and Imelda, and Jerome and Rowena, as well as her six grandchildren. Rosalinda will be missed by her brother, Gilbert De Los Reyes, sister, June R. Balmanoukian and brother-in-law, Armen Balmanoukian. Family and friends will gather for a vigil at Passalacqua Funeral Chapel, 901 West 2nd Street, Benicia, on Monday, July 2 at 7:00 pm.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Dominic’s Catholic Church, 475 E “I” Street, on Tuesday, July 3 at 11am. Burial will follow in St. Dominic’s Cemetery, Benicia. To send flowers or a memorial gift to the family of Rosalinda de los reyes Marble please visit our Sympathy Store.
