Dona Q. Holtey, age 88, a resident of Eagle River, WI and formerly of Three Lakes, WI and Rockford, IL, died on Saturday June 16, 2018 at her home with family and friends. She was born on August 27, 1929 to Frank “Wally” and Elin Kask. She was a summer visitor to the Northwoods since 1945, purchased property in 1964, moved to Three Lakes in 1980 and then to Eagle River in 2009.

She was a member of the Legion Auxiliary Post 431 and the Women’s Club of Three Lakes. She was formerly a member… Read More » of the Union Congregational Church in Three Lakes, WI. Dona loved the Northwoods.

Her passion was feeding and caring for any and all animals. She was preceded in death by her soulmate in marriage James Holtey, of 40 years, in 1994. She was also preceded by her father, mother and grandparents.

She is survived by her daughter: Diana (Michael) Martorana; granddaughter: Jami (Nick) Doyle; great granddaughter: Imajen Doyle; cousins: David Anderson of Minnesota, Wayne and Elaine of Rockford, IL and several others from Minnesota. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday July 6, 2018 at the Arlington Memorial Cemetery on Charles Street in Rockford, IL. Memorials in Dona’s name to the Vilas Co. Humane Society or American Legion Post 431 are appreciated by the family.
