Obituary for Mr. Donald Helke Donald Helke, 64, of Malone, died June 29, 2018 in the privacy of his home at 2 Willard Street. Born on January 8, 1954 in Ogdensburg, NY, he was the son of Donald Paul Helke and Martha Gadwaw. Donald was a very big part of the Citizen Advocates family for over 20 years, where he had many friends who he considered his family.

Don worked for many years of his life at Citizen Advocates; he also had his own business doing lawn care until he became ill. Donny enjoyed country music on the back porch, fishing, lawn care, watching car races and going to the races in Plattsburgh, NY at Airbourne racetrack. He had a great sense of humor and was always teasing someone.

He also enjoyed cooking; one of his favorite meals to cook was spaghetti. Don will be sadly missed by all his family and friends. Calling hours will be held at the St. Mary-Murphy-Wilcox Funeral Home on Monday, July 9 from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. A prayer service will follow immediately in the funeral home chapel at 11 a.m. Burial will take place at Brainardsville Cemetery, Brainardsville.

A luncheon will be held following the burial at 2 Willard Street, Malone. Arrangements are with the St. Mary-Murphy-Wilcox Funeral Home. Online condolences may be offered at www.
