Donald’s Obituary Donald L. Johnson, 69, of Roanoke, VA, passed away on Wednesday, February 20, 2019. He was born on July 20, 1949, to the late Helen Johnson Mills and James T. Johnson. Donald was employed for over 37 years by Appalachian Power Company.

Donald is survived by his wife of 46 years, Rhonda Coles Johnson; two sons, Shakir and Shawn Johnson; one sister, Loretta Cobbs; one brother, James T. Johnson (Joyce); and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 pm Wednesday, February 27, 2019, at Hamlar-Curtis Funeral Home. A funeral service celebrating Donald’s life will be held 1 p.m. Thursday, February 28, 2019, at Shiloh Baptist Church, Salem, Virginia.
