Obituary for Donald Bowen Donald L. Bowen, 66, husband of Lynn D. Bowen, died Saturday, June 30, 2018, at his home. Born January 29, 1952, in Sumter, he was a son of the late Harold Bowen and the late Virginia Coleman Bowen. He was a member of Sumter First Church of the Nazarene.

He retired from the Sumter County Sheriff’s Department after 37 years of service. Survivors include his wife of 21 years; six children, Danny Bowen (Trish) of Sumter, Donnie Bowen (Erica) of Ohio, Wayne Azevedo, Lee Azevedo (Becca), Michelle Judy (Terry), and Tammy Bruton (David); 12 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; a brother, Johnny L. Bowen (Debbie) of Sumter; and a number of aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a brother, Ronnie L. Bowen; and a sister, Sandra K. Bowen Branham.

Funeral services will be held at 11:30 A.M. Tuesday at Sumter First Church of the Nazarene with the Rev. Greg Pressley officiating. Burial with Sheriff’s Department honors will be in the Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 10 to 11:30 A.M. Tuesday at Sumter First Church of the Nazarene and other times at the home. Memorials may be made to American Cancer Society, 950 48th Avenue North, Suite 101, Myrtle Beach, SC 29577. Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home and Crematorium of Sumter is in charge of the arrangements.
