Obituary for James Lamb James L. Lamb, 87, widow of Joyce Ann Webber Lamb, died Tuesday, September 18, 2018, at Palmetto Health-Tuomey. Born December 4, 1930, in Twin City, Georgia, he was a son of the late James Ellis Lamb and the late Julia Odessa Turner Lamb. Mr. Lamb was a member of Alice Drive Baptist Church where he was in the Fellowship Life Group and sang in the choir for many years.

He served in the U.S. Army and was a veteran of the Korean War. Mr. Lamb worked at Belk on Main St. for 20 years, retired from the U.S. Postal Service, and worked as a tax preparer with Ingram and Associates for more than 42 years. He was a member of American Legion Post 15, the Sumter Bowling Association and former officer of AFL-CIO.

Survivors include three children, James Kevin Lamb (Kathy) of Sumter, Donna Stout (Andy) of Summerton, and Kathryn Scott (Horace) of Sumter; thirteen grandchildren, Nicole Stout, Jurina Stout, Austin Stout, Elizabeth Robinson, Olin Robinson, Rebekah Robinson, Horace Lee Scott, Jr., Holly Scott, Cooper Scott, David Barwick, Brandon Williams, Breanna Flannery, and Emily Flannery. He was preceded in death by his brother, Ellis Lamb. Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Friday at Alice Drive Baptist Church with the Rev.

Dr. Clay Smith officiating. Burial will be in the Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery. Pallbearers will be James Kevin Lamb, Horace Lee Scott, Jr., Cooper James Scott, Olin Robinson, Austin Stout, and Bobby Hasibar.

The family will receive friends from 2 to 3 p.m. Friday at Alice Drive Baptist Church and other times at the home of Horace and Kathy Scott, 2190 Cory Drive. Memorials may be made to Alice Drive Baptist Church, 1305 Loring Mill Road, Sumter, SC 29150. Services will be announced by Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home and Crematorium of Sumter.
