Obituary for Christopher Steele Christopher Wayne Steele, 43, died Tuesday, September 11, 2018, at Carolina Pines Regional Medical Center in Hartsville. Born April 6, 1975, in Sumter, he was a son of the late John W. Steele and the late Cynthia Hicks Steele. He was employed by the U.S. Department of Agriculture.

He was a member of the Boy Scout of America Troop 86 and the S.C. Patriot Reserve. He enjoyed the outdoors, especially hunting. Survivors include two daughters, Megan Steele of NC and Alyssa Steele of Sumter; a sister, Amanda Peak of Sumter; and four nieces, Kayla Taylor, Tori Peak, Morgan Peak, and Blair Peak.

A memorial service will be held at 2 P.M. Saturday at Sumter First Church of the Nazarene with the Rev. Greg Pressley officiating. Private burial will be in the Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. Saturday at the church. Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home and Crematorium of Sumter is in charge of the arrangements.
