Donetta Lynn Smith, 50, of Kansas City, MO died at North Kansas City Hospital on Monday, May 21, 2018 surrounded by her family. She was born in Kansas City, MO on July 26, 1967, to Deanna (Basinger) Smith and the late Clyde Lynn Smith. She was a graduate of Northeast High School, Class of 1985, and worked in the trucking and financial industries.

Donetta had a large and extended family and she enjoyed spending as much time with her sisters, nieces, nephews, great-nieces & nephews as she could. She gave of her time freely helping friends, teaching Sunday School and volunteering at Rose Brook’s Home for Women. She is survived by her Mother Deanna Smith, sisters Rhonda Glasgow, Jana (Steven) Hargrave, Landra (Stephen) Geabhart and Lisa (Craig) Mitchell.

Her 13 nieces and nephews: Sara (Jeff), Phoebe, Amanda (Jeff), Molly, Silya, Jason, Brian (Rachael), Laura (TeJay), Michael (Christy), Aaron (Kelsey), Gloria (Paul), Victoria (Connor) and Jacob. 24 Great-nieces and nephews: Mercades, Connor, Alyx, AJ, Cotton, Wren, Mica, Brooks, Scarlet, Autumn, Ethan, Mason, Jaxon, Gavin, Gwendalynn, Baby Hargrave, Trace, Titus, Ariana, Andrew, Austin, Emma, Bryce and Harper The Pall Bearers will be Jason Geabhart, Brian Hargrave, Michael Geabhart, Aaron Mitchell, Jacob Glasgow, Jeff Miller and TeJay Brewer. Honorary Pall Bearers will be Mason Miller, Ethan Miller, Jaxon Miller, Gavin Hargrave, Connor Ruch, AJ Gietzen, Cotton McCarthy, Wren McCarthy, Mica McCarthy, Brooks Shaw, Trace Brewer, Titus Brewer, Andrew Geabhart, Austin Geabhart and Bryce Mitchell.

Donetta is preceded in death by her father Clyde Smith and brother-in-law Greg Glasgow. A celebration of life service will be Friday, May 25, 2018 at 1:00 pm at Shoal Creek Community Church, 6816 Church Road, Pleasant Valley, MO 64068.
