Donna B. Hale, 87, of Shawnee, KS passed away Friday, March 15, 2019 at the University of Kansas Medical center She was born June 2, 1931 in Nebraska City, NE, the daughter of Earl James and May Bell Conkling. On December 30, 1981, she married the love of her life, Burton Hale, in Kansas City, KS. Donna was a great mother, grandmother and great grandmother.

She was happiest spending time together with family. She was selfless and would give the shirt off her back to anyone. Her loving spirit and infectious smile held her family together.

She will be greatly missed. She is preceded in death by her parents; a son Roy Gentet; and her siblings. She is survived by her husband of 39 years, Burton Hale; two sons, Louis Gentet and wife Maxine of Marquette, MI, and Roger Gentet of DeSoto, KS; two daughters, Donna Gentet of Tehachapi, CA and Julie Blanton and husband Kevin of Bonner Springs, KS.

; daughter in law Terri Gentet of Kansas City, KS; six grandchildren, Dustin, Melody, Gustave, Chad, Corey and Melissa; and great grandchildren Colton, Tyler, Jacob and Marissa. A funeral service will be held Friday, March 22, 2019 at Maple Hill Funeral Home beginning at 2:00 P.M. The family will receive friends beginning at 1:00 P.M. until service time. Burial will be at the Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
