Lloyd D. Reaka, 89, of Kansas City, KS, passed away Monday, March 11, 2019 at his home. He was born September 11, 1929 in Agnes City, KS the son of Earl and Della Reaka. On April 19, 1949 in Amasa, MI he was united in marriage to the love of his life, Ruth V Reaka.

Lloyd proudly served his country in the United States Navy. He was an accomplished musician where he played the trumpet in the United States Navy Band. Lloyd worked over forty years until retirement, as a computer coordinator, for the Santa Fe Railroad.

He was a faithful man of God, and devout member of Stony Point Baptist Church, where he served in various roles including Sunday School Superintendent and as Deacon. Some of his favorite hobbies included listening to Polka music and watching and listening to sports, especially his favorite, baseball. Most importantly he was a family man who was devoted to caring for his family.

He was completely devoted to his wife, Ruthie. He will be greatly missed. He is survived by sons Douglas D. Reaka and wife Peggy, Dick Reaka and wife Susan, Jim R. Reaka and Sara Parker; daughter: Brenda Stark; grandchildren, Melissa, Jeffery, Jill, Todd, Katy, Jeremy, Jonathan, Jolynne, Anna; great grandchildren Alex, Sam, Emma, Jackson, Makayla, Julie, Lily, Wyatt, Lyle, Isabella, Cloe, and Brantley; and sisters Dorothy Schiesser and Mary Nelson.

He is preceded in death by his wife of sixty three years, Ruth; his parents; and several brothers and a sister. A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 P.M. Friday, March 15, 2019 at Maple Hill Funeral Home. A visitation will begin at 1:00 P.M. until service time.

Burial will follow in the Maple Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions are suggested to Stony Point Baptist Church. To send flowers or a memorial gift to the family of Lloyd D. Reaka please visit our Sympathy Store.
