Donna Jeanne (Ferguson) Settle, 85, died on January 7, 2019 at her home. She was born on August 18, 1933 in Phillipsburg, Pa. She was the daughter of E. Bruce and Loretta M. Ferguson, who preceded her in death in 1981 & 1992 respectively.

She was also predeceased by her husband of 47 years Robert Thomas Settle, who died in February, 1998, and her daughter Barbara Ann Holland who died in 2006. She graduated from Westminster High School in 1951. She was in the first graduating class under the newly formed rule of a 12 year school system in Maryland.

She also attended Catherman’s Business School in 1961 and the Chicago School of Interior Design in 1971. She did interior decorating for Wampler Furniture Store until her retirement. She had been a legal secretary for 39 years, most of those years in Westminster, but was also a legal secretary for the Hon.

Thomas B. Finan, Attorney General of Maryland, in 1961-1663 in Cumberland, Md. where she and her husband had been transferred by the Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co. as a store manager. She had also been a driver for the Carroll.

She was an active member of the Jaycees of Westminster, the Westminster Chapter of the Order of Eastern Star for many years, where she held many offices. She was also a member of the Bou Tempsie Club of Boumi Temple in Baltimore, and in later years the Gladys Wimert Lioness Club where she held several offices, the latest being 2nd Vice President when the club disbanded. She had been a long time member of Grace Lutheran Church.

She is survived by one daughter Marti J. Settle, four grandchildren Michael Patrick Holland, Kristin Brooke Holland, Erin Renee Hutchison, Rachel LeAnn Kotmair, four great-grandchildren Brady, Brianna, Karly-Jo, and Kennedy, several nieces and nephews, and two brothers Thomas K Ferguson and Gerald B. Ferguson. She was predeceased by a brother-in-law William Settle. There will be no public viewing.

Interment will be private at the convenience of the family. Memorial contributions can be made to the funeral home to help the family defray costs.
