Donna Claire Schmitt, age 85, a longtime resident of Beecher, IL died on Wednesday, the 26th day of September, 2018 at Franciscan St. James Hospital Olympia Fields. Donna was born to in Chicago Heights, IL on the 17th day of July, 1933. She was a homemaker who loved spending time with her family and friends, a member of St. Luke’s United Church of Christ and a Chicago Cubs fan.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Schmitt; and her parents, Clarence and Josephine Rispens. She has 2 sons, Kurt and wife, Marla Schmitt of Monett, MO and Scott Schmitt of Mokena, IL; one sister, Alice and husband, Norman Swiderek of Orland Park, IL; 4 grandchildren, Austin Chapman of Olathe, KS, Heather and husband, Nathan Barnes of Mt. Olive, AL, Brandon and wife Chelsea Chapman of Lebanon, MO and Alex Schmitt of Olathe, KS; 7 Great-Grandchildren, Rylee, Deklan, Deagan, Ellis, Abigail, Audrey, and Wednesday.

A visitation will be held on Monday, October 1, 2018 at Hack Funeral Home in Beecher, IL from 10:00am to Noon, followed by a Memorial service at Noon. Her remains will be added to Lincoln National Cemetery at a later date. Any memorials given will be sent to St. Luke’s UCC food pantry in Beecher, IL.

Let them give thanks to the LORD for his unfailing love and his wonderful deeds for mankind, for he satisfies the thirsty and fills the hungry with good things.
